A Mini Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a condensed and accessible version of a traditional MBA degree and offers accelerated education in a range of key business areas. Mini MBAs are aimed at professionals who would like to gain additional skills and knowledge to excel in their current role and boost their future career.

The RTS Mini MBA is a business-orientated course focussed on the TV and Streaming media sector. It is CPD accredited, and offers an online fast-track learning program for those working within the TV industry, or servicing it. It has been developed with over 100 specialists from across the sector to provide an unrivalled strategic insight, with practical real-world application, into how the different elements of the TV & Streaming Media ecosystem operate.

The Royal Television Society is an educational charity promoting the art and science of television and its related fields. With a rich history of supporting the industry with bursaries, training and events, and fantastic access to organisations and people with great insights and industry experience, we realised we were uniquely placed to create a comprehensive go-to course about the business of television.

This course is suitable for anybody working within the TV & Streaming Media sector and professionals servicing the industry. You could have recently graduated or be highly experienced in a specialist role. The RTS Mini MBA is designed to be studied part-time and on-demand to fit in with busy working lives. The RTS Mini MBA in TV & Streaming Media has been developed with top-level industry practitioners - working right across the sector in all areas - and it includes every essential topic needed for a thorough understanding of the business of television.

The course has been designed to be completed in around 80 hours. The Mini MBA is made up of 24 modules and each will take around 3 hours to complete in total. There will also be additional resources and reading available as part of the ‘Director’s Cut’, for those who want to further their knowledge.

The course is aimed at professionals at all levels, working within the industry or a company servicing it. Whether you are just starting out or have 15 years of experience in your chosen field, you should find the course equally stimulating. Whilst it has been designed to challenge you, it is also straightforward to follow, and there will be support through opportunities to discuss and share ideas with fellow learners.

The course needs to be completed on a desktop, laptop or tablet to maximise user experience.

You will complete the course as an individual but there will be opportunities to connect with fellow students through discussion forums and live webinars. We would also recommend studying alongside colleagues if possible, so that you can discuss your learning journeys together.

There is no set time in which you need to complete the course, but we will give you a guided timeframe to aim for, and follow up with inactive users to check in on progress and offer support. We recommend completing the Mini MBA within 3 – 6 months for maximum impact.

There is no other course like this. Our research identified a lack of higher-educational business training for professionals working in or servicing the TV industry, and so the RTS Mini MBA was born to fill that skills gap. Developed with unique access to over 100 industry professionals at the top of their game, for fellow industry professionals, the course is built on highly-valuable experience-based knowledge which can be applied in the real world. Beyond this course, it would be impossible to access so many industry stalwarts and thought-leaders; here, they will feel like your own personal lecturers.

The course is delivered online, so that professional learners can complete modules on-demand during their own time and at their own pace. However, there will be opportunities to join special live event webinars with industry contributors throughout the year, where you can submit questions. These will also be recorded for those who cannot attend and you can continue to sign up for these events once you have finished the course.

There will be a variety of assessments to help track your learning throughout the course. Anybody wishing to gain a graded mark for their Mini MBA will have the opportunity to complete a final assessment, and earn a distinction.

The course will be accredited by the CPD Standards Office. A full review by the CPD Standards Office will be conducted before the course starts in order to confirm the accreditation.
